I am Cadet Ensign Adanna Duanys and the 2019-2020 Commanding Officer of the North High NJROTC. As the Commanding Officer of the unit, I am responsible for the overall guidance/direction of the unit. Also as CO, I have to carry out any tasks my SNSI or NSI has assigned me. The Commanding Officer is meant to be the face of the unit so I am to maintain the highest standards of leadership, morale, and discipline. I am also responsible for all unit functions, community services, Color Guard, etc. I am here for ALL of the cadets including my fellow staff members to make sure they are carrying out their duties or if they need guidance in any type of way.  My goal for this school year is to make sure every cadet is meeting their full potential and for the unit to excel in all departments including Drill, Color guard, Academics, and Personal Inspection.

I am Cadet Ensign Raesean Goodney and I am the  Executive Officer (XO) Of North High School NJROTC. As the XO, my responsibilities are under the command of the Commanding Officer (CO)  to run the unit through the staff. I have to be prepared to become the CO or any other staff position at any given moment and I must fulfill the responsibilities of that position as if it were my own. I am responsible for taking charge over all staff meetings, making sure that all staff members are meeting their expectations and are executing the responsibilities of their jobs well.

I am Command Master Chief Savarese. As the Command Master Chief, my position is an integral part of North High’s Navy JROTC Unit. As the senior enlisted cadet, I act as the liaison for all enlisted cadets and mentor for the Unit, from a Seaman Recruit to a Master Chief Petty Officer. I advise the Unit’s officers on decisions and issues concerning the enlisted personnel and act on their behalf. As the CMC I also act as the Unit’s trainer, helping cadets - especially NS1’s - learn drill and Colorguard as well as instilling in them the Navy’s Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. I also aide in resolving problems between shipmates and staff. As Command Master Chief you must possess an understanding of all the departments as well as any procedures within the department. therefore I assist in the supervision of all departments, ensuring they do their job correctly and all deadlines are met. My goal for the 2019-2020 school year is to mentor as many cadets as possible and to create a Unit that cannot be beaten.

Administrative Officer

I’m Cadet Ensign Kenney Huynh, and I’m the Admin Officer for North High NJROTC 2019-2020. As the Admin Officer, it is my job to make sure all of my workers are using the time they have to do administrative work. It is also my job to make sure all of my workers know how to do any particular task in the Admin Department. The Admin department plays the most important role for North High NJROTC. This being the fact that we are the ones who officially enroll cadets into the unit. Without the admin department, we wouldn’t have cadets, awards, or promotions. We also keep a very accurate report of events that we do during the year which helps us towards being ‘Unit Achievement’ or, hopefully, ‘Distinguished Unit’ recipients. Most of the work we do is done through the government website known as CDMIS. This site holds most of our records and it is very important that it is used correctly and accurately. My goal as the Admin officer is to hopefully train as many leaders as I can while teaching them how to take care of the Unit. I strive to be an approachable leader yet firm. The biggest thing for my department will be consistency. Nothing is right without consistency.

Operations Officer

I am the Operations Officer, Chief Petty Officer Marquis Bell. This billet means I am the head of the Operations department. Operations is all about managing events and being in charge of many activities within the Unit. The department handles events from Parades to the Navy Ball. Drill, Colorguard, and Orienteering are a few of the activities organized by the Operations department. My role in the Unit is to lead the department in the right direction as agreed on by both staff and instructors, and make sure the workers in this department remain focused and dedicated. My goal for this year is to create a fun and comfortable workspace where tasks are being finished completely and correctly.

Supply Officer

I am Cadet Chief Petty Officer Binh Tran, and I’m the Supply Officer for North High NJROTC 2019-2020. As the Supply Officer, it is my job to make sure all of my workers are using the time they have to do supply work productively and effectively. It is also my job to make sure all of my workers know how to complete certain tasks in the Supply Department. The Supply Department plays a large role for North High NJROTC. One reason is that it’s where every cadet gets issued their Uniforms, PT Gear, etc. Without the Supply Department, it would be difficult to keep track of all the items we have (Ranks, Clothes, Ribbons, Cords) as well as issuing hundreds of cadets every year. Why is keeping track of all the items important you may ask? Well, that’s because it is very significant during our AMI (Annual Military Inspection). We get inspected on our invoice, inventory, etc. And without having all of this info prepared and accurate for the AMI, it would lower our chance of receiving the Unit Achievement or Distinguished Unit Ribbon. Finally, my goal as the Supply Officer is to try to make this year's Supply Department fun, but also consistent and organized.

Public Affairs Officer

I am Cadet Chief Petty Officer Natalie Centeno, and I will be North High NJROTC's Public Affairs Officer for the 2019-2020 school year. As PAO, I will act as the main connection between the Unit and the public. Responsibilities I have include maintaining the Unit's social media accounts as well as our quarterly Anchors Aweigh newsletter. The Public Affairs Department is also in charge of taking pictures at any event that the Unit is involved with. Updating photos and information in the Unit and out to the public are tasks that I and my workers will be held accountable for. The goals I have for this Department are to complete all tasks and responsibilities effectively and with care to ensure we have a successful year in the Public Affairs Department.
